Biden Urged to Invoke Cold-War Powers to Blunt Energy Price Hike
Everyone’s invoking so-called “war powers” these days. Why not? It’s all the rage in “a time of war.” Cold War. War on Poverty. War on Drugs. War on Terror. Iraq War. War in Ukraine. Cold War II. Are there other alternatives, or is such drastic action necessary? And how long before these “temporary measures” stay permanent enough to put the United States on a course toward becoming a Soviet-style command economy guided by flavor-of-the-day, politically correct pork-barrel special interest pet projects instead of market supply-and-demand? And in this case, production capacity. Drill, baby, drill!
Important side-note: Gas prices (and inflation) were already on the steep rise BEFORE Russia invaded Ukraine…just sayin’.
