I tweaked the top two lines of this piece I wrote and you commented on; I am giving again to Premier Brian Peckford as a means to help the govn end this; we have to start somewhere and its not final

Always welcome comments for I am only putting my thoughts on paper to see how it can help...note too still trying to assess validity of the arrest reports so that I may respond appropriately today

“The vaccine mandates we think may have been very applicable had the Covid pandemic been extremely severe, but only with proper broad consultation with many experts and with proper safety testing of the vaccines and vaccines only offered, never mandated; evidence has accumulated that indicates otherwise and many global nations are responding by dropping all mandates, some immediately; Covid February 2022 is not Covid March 2020 for we know who is at risk and how to manage and treat; we are well prepared; Omicron now dominates and while very infectious as we envisioned it will be given how mutable viruses behave across time (Mueller’s ratchet), the evidence is clear that it is far less severe than the prior Delta variant or prior variants, or the flu and even the common cold; indications are that even high-risk elderly who get infected with Omicron do not need treatment, requiring just support and reports are that they recover quite well.

Importantly, the COVID vaccine has shown that it has failed against the Omicron variant but the good news is that Omicron is very mild; moreover, the vaccine has shown it does not stop infection, replication, or transmission (does not sterilize the virus) and as such, we feel that given all of these factors, then it is prudent at this time to lift the vaccine mandates and remove the declared pandemic emergency; it is time, it is time to declare the pandemic emergency over; the existing mildness of Omicron and the failure of the vaccine to stop transmission, as well as the wealth of natural immunity that has built up in the population across time due to exposure and recovery (especially to Omicron) as well as the availability of therapeutic options including monoclonal antibodies and antivirals etc., demands that we lift the mandates (all) and remove the declarations of emergency and the underlying enabling powers. The key is that omicron is mild enough that most people, even many high-risk people, can adequately cope with the infection.

Should variants emerge in the future that are consequential and more severe and which could threaten safety, then we would be prepared to reconsider mandates to protect the population. At this time however, all mandates will be lifted immediately and all emergencies removed as there is no scientific or medical basis to keep them in place; the pandemic is over and Covid has become endemic, and Omicron is our exit off-ramp strategy and we will embrace it so that our societies can go on after two long hard years of restrictions and challenges that costed the people in immeasurable ways; it is time to move forward and declare the pandemic emergency over; we need to remind that this does not mean that the virus is gone completely – no, omicron is still spreading, and the virus may circulate forever endemically. But with a normal focus on protecting the vulnerable, we can treat the virus as a medical rather than a social matter and manage it in ordinary ways.

We have learned much about the utility of inexpensive supplements like Vitamin D to reduce disease risk, and the importance of healthier living and body weight control, and there is a host of good therapeutics available to prevent hospitalization and death should a vulnerable patient become infected; importantly, for younger persons, the risk of severe disease – already low before omicron – is minuscule.

A declared emergency needs continuous justification, and that is now lacking. The state of emergency cannot be defended, and we the government recognize this, and we cannot go on this way and justify it with immobilization and fears of a hypothetical recurrence of some more severe infection at some unknown point in the future. This is irrational and illogical with no sound justification. As a government, we must know when the time has come to end this. The time is now. If such a severe new variant were ever to occur as mentioned – and it seems unlikely from omicron – then that would be the time to discuss a new declaration of emergency, and only if definitive. At this time, Covid is over and the pandemic is over, and while we proceed with care and reasonable precautions societally, we as government, must act urgently and accordingly by lifting all Covid related restrictions and emergency declarations and powers.”
